Psychiatric Travel Nursing Jobs

What is Psychiatric Nursing? (Psych Nursing)

Psychiatric nursing jobs require nurses to care for a wide variety of psychiatric and behavioral issues. They can work on an inpatient basis with conditions such as schizophrenia, or outpatient such as substance abuse clinics.

Psychiatric nurses also play a large role in assessing patients, planning patient care, implementing patient care and evaluating the outcomes of the desired care plans.

Psychiatric Travel Nursing Jobs Outlook:

Many inpatient psychiatric units have recently suffered from funding cutbacks. This has led to a downsizing of needs for psychiatric nurses on a national level. This does not mean that there are no travel psychiatric nursing positions available, but it does mean that facilities can be very picky on the psychiatric nurses they choose. At this time, a minimum of five years recent psychiatric inpatient experience is recommended in order to be submitted to a psychiatric position. With this in mind, it is a guarantee that one position will receive dozens of applicants. The more experience a nurse’s resume reflects, the more likely it is that nurse will be picked for the assignment.
