Telemetry Travel Nursing Jobs
What is Telemetry Nursing? (Tele Nursing)
Telemetry nurses, in most facilities, care for patients on heart monitors. This involves remote assessment of heart rhythms from a centralized area (usually at the nurse's station). Sometimes these monitors are monitored by technicians. The function and certifications of telemetry nurses can vary among different institutions. Some facilities will require a telemetry nurse have Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification while others do not. Usually a telemetry nurse will carry less patients than a nurse on a medical surgical floor.
Telemetry Travel Nursing Jobs Outlook:
Telemetry nurses are in strong demand nationally. It is imperative that any nurse considering an assignment find out details that can vary between facilities. Some of these details can include questions like:
- What is the nurse to patient ratios?
- Is ACLS required?
- What type of drips are on the telemetry units?
- Are any telemetry patients on ventilators?
- Are there monitor technicians at the monitor station?
Questions such as these increase the likelihood of a successful travel assignment for any telemetry nurse.
